A survey carried out by the AA on good and attractive neighbourhoods has named the area covered by the IP postcode, which includes Hadleigh, as one of the best three places in Britain.

The AA’s Streetwatch survey was carried out by almost 2,000 members who recorded areas plagued by potholes, litter, bad signs, faded road markings, uneven pavements, dogs mess and other blights on neighbourhood roads.

The best individual areas were Taunton, Berwick & Borders and the Ipswich postcode area which includes Hadleigh, the worst areas were Oldham, the Fylde Coast (Lancashire) and Dartford.

This means you’re likely to find fewer problems on the roads in and around Hadleigh, but if you know of any pothole hotspots, of course we’d love to hear about them.

The IP postcode area scored the best in the country for fewest patched repairs, these are the holes and trenches that gas, water, telecoms and electricity companies dig in the road. In our area these were considered to be the best covered in the country.

The IP area was also the best in England for ensuring that inspection covers (water, cable, telecoms etc) were well maintained.
