Hadleigh Cricket Club has paid its respects to Joshua Rix who died last week at the age of 23. As well as posting a tribute on their website, the clubs A and B sides observed a minutes silence before their recent indoor matches. On their website Hadleigh Cricket Club described Josh as a 'dear colleague and friend'. The Hadleigh community has been saddened by the death of 23-year-old father Joshua Rix who died this week whilst in Perth Australia. Tragically Joshua was helping to organise the funeral of his mother when he collapsed and died of a suspected seizure. Yesterday evening the market place in Hadleigh was packed with families enjoying the Hadleigh 'Christmas Lighting Up'. There were festive scenes as the brass band played Away in a Manger and everyone sang along as the (fake) snow fell. Residents of Hadleigh can look forward to late summer 2012 when 'Hadleigh's Community Facility' opens. Let's hope Babergh District Council have come up with a better name for it by then! The Community Facility will be a two storey unit costing £2.4 million.
