Sometimes when there is nothing good to say in the news it is quite nice to read something that is pleasnt and enjoyable. I had a lovely day in Haldeigh a couple of weeks ago and I felt like writing about it for all those who might be new to Hadleigh or would like to share their favourite bits about the town.

Sundays are made for lazy days, and to spend such a lazy day in Hadleigh out in the open air is just lovely. The most noticeable thing about our untouched gem of a town is that it is very much alive on Sundays! Not many shops are open but the community is out and about enjoying the weekend and there is a real community feel to the place when you stop and take it in. From football matches to Sunday lunches, there is plenty to see and do. So what do I do in Hadleigh on a Sunday?

Hadleigh sports a beautiful highstreet, smartly kept and lined with beautiful old style architecture. Most of these independent shops have unique window displays making for enjoyable window shopping. While most shops are closed on a Sunday (unlike many across the country which is a shame in my view), the tranquility and calm is met with various pubs and cafe's including The George and the Huffers Cafe which are open and offer wondeful service (from experience!).

Stepping off the highstreet pretty much lands you off the beaten track and many people are to be found walking the Riverside Walk. This is a great place for dog walkers and families. There are many beautiful sights of the church from here and fishermen line the river with thier big rods. The time of year is coming where the tree's are budding and bulbs are pushing through the soil so it is a comforting place to think about spring! Not only is there the Riverside Walk but there are many footpaths leading off away from the river so many mini adventures are to be had from there.

To sum it up Hadleigh is a lovely place to live or visit at the weekend. Surrounded by countyside and a friendly community, you couldn't go wrong.
