Babergh District Council local election results were announced today
Hadleigh North
- Mary Munson held onto the Liberal Democrat seat with 448 votes.
- Conservative Brian Riley held onto his party's seat with 595 votes.
Hadleigh South
- The Liberal Democrats lost one of their two seats to the Conservatives with Kathryn Grandon-White being elected.
- Liberal Democrat David Grutchfield was elected with 659 votes, the most cast for one candidate in the Hadleigh South ward.
As expected, overall the Conservatives fared the best of the three main parties (locally) with seventeen Conservative councillors being elected to Babergh District Council.
Nationally the Liberal Democrats have lost seats and this is echoed in the Babergh district where they lost three.
Labour will be happy as they increased their number of councillors, winning seats that were previously occupied by the Conservatives.
