The Hadleigh community has been saddened by the death of 23-year-old father Joshua Rix who died this week whilst in Perth Australia.

Tragically Joshua was helping to organise the funeral of his mother when he collapsed and died of a suspected seizure. Reports in the local media suggest that he flew out to Australia because of his mother's illness but did not get to see her before she died.

Joshua loved sport and this summer played for Hadleigh Cricket Club. Earlier this week on their Facebook page they posted: "Rest in peace Joshua Rix, a great member of Hadleigh Cricket Club and a great guy. Thoughts are with his family."

As well as playing cricket for Hadleigh Joshua was also a keen rugby player for Sudbury Rugby Club.

In a report published in today's East Anglian Daily Times Joshua was described as a 'larger than life character' that 'always had a smile on his face'.

Joshua grew up in Hadleigh and went to Hadleigh High School. When not playing rugby and cricket he worked with disabled people.
