Catalytic converter thefts in Babergh area:
Suffolk Police have been particularly concerned with the high number of catalytic converter thefts in the Hadleigh area. Thieves are stealing them and then selling them on as scrap metal.
At the start of November 41 vehicle owners in the Hadleigh area had their catalytic converters marked so the police can trace them if they are taken. Mechanics at Crockatt Garage Ltd and Ainger Holbrows have been given catalytic converter marking kits so if you are one of their customers please let them know if you want your catalytic converter marked.
Light up Lock up campaign
Suffolk Police have launched a 'Light up Lock Up' campaign which they hope will reduce the number of burglaries in Hadleigh over the dark winter months. They say:
-A well lit home gives the impression someone is in
-Use timer switches
-Don't leave curtains closed during the daytime, only in the evening/night
-Lock all windows and doors
-Keep gates well secured
-Keep valuable items out of view
What do you think of the advice from Suffolk Police? Do you agree they are doing their best to help protect the people of Hadleigh from criminals operating in our area?
