Currently Babergh District Council manage parking in Hadleigh but this could be about to change as Sudbury Town Council have expressed an interest in taking over the role. If successful in taking over the role Sudbury Town Council want to keep the long-stay parking rates as they are - £1.50 per day.

Who do you want to be in charge of parking in Hadleigh? Should Hadleigh Town Council be given the job?
Sudbury Town Council have outlined the following plans for parking in Hadleigh:
-They want save the money Babergh District Council currently spends on regulating parking by employing three parking wardens which will each work 60 hours a week.
-They also want to make money from car parking by allowing businesses to pay to advertise on the back of parking tickets.
Speaking to the BBC, Sudbury Town Council's Sue Brotherwood said: "It is this council's intention to do everything in its power to help make the savings and generate income to avoid the need for any further increases in car parking charges."
According to Sudbury Town Council, Babergh District Council currently spends £70,740 a year on car parking wardens. Sudbury Town Council suggests that too much of this money is being wasted on external contractors.
Babergh District Council told the BBC that they are struggling to cope with 'substantial cuts' from central government. They say they have to review car parking costs in Sudbury and Hadleigh because they have £1.3 million less to spend on public services in the next financial year.
Do you think Sudbury Town Council should have control of parking in Hadleigh or do you think Hadleigh's own Town Council should have control? Or should it be left in the hands of Babergh District Council?
