Will the Olympic Torch pass through Hadleigh?

IT DOESN'T look like the Olympic Torch will be passing through our town next year but that doesn't mean that people living in Hadleigh have to miss out on the celebrations.

On Thursday July 5 the Olympic Torch will make an overnight stop-over in nearby Ipswich. A big celebration is due to take place in Christchurch Park.

Even if you can't make it to the celebrations in Ipswich that does not mean you have to be left out of the Olympic build up.

The Olympic organising committee are looking for inspirational people from across the country to carry the historic flame across the UK.

If you know someone in Hadleigh who you think has done something really important for our community please nominate them. Alternatively you are able to put yourself forward for the prestigious honour. If you do want to nominate yourself as a torchbearer please click here.

If you are nominating someone one else you will have to submit some basic details alongside a 100 word summary of why you think the local person you are nominating is so inspirational. The closing date for entries is June 29, 2011.
