Yesterday evening the market place in Hadleigh was packed with families enjoying the Hadleigh 'Christmas Lighting Up'.

There were festive scenes as the brass band played Away in a Manger and everyone sang along as the (fake) snow fell. Then the mayor Penny Cook flicked the switch and the lights on the lovely Christmas tree came on with a backdrop of a sparkling firework.

As well as the traditional Carol singers (from Hadleigh High School) and the brass band there were many other great acts keeping the crowd entertained including the winners of Hadleigh Has Talent and the Fun Dancing Group which dressed up especially for the occasion.

The staff at the Santander bank should get a special mention. They made sure the adults all got a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie and children were given a bag of sweets.

You can see exclusive video footage and pictures from the 'Hadleigh Christmas Lighting Up' on the Hadleigh Entertainment Committee website. You can also pictures in our Hadleigh People photo gallery, let us know what you think.

Hadleigh People was proud to be one of the sponsors of the Hadleigh Lighting Up. We hope you all enjoyed the event and that it put you well and truly in the Christmas Spirit.
